What is mental Health? Mental health includes our emotional,
psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act.
It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make
healthy choices
Coping with stress during and after COVID-19 will determine a community’s resilience and will make the community stronger.
The Kenyan Community living in Alberta with diverse population in terms of
migration status, age, social economic status, and with many other social
determinants has been impacted in many ways. How the community deals with the effects of the pandemic will determine how it moves forward.
Coping with Stress:
The COVID-19 has not only caused permanent injuries to many people in the world, but disrupted the way of life of many communities. Many communities are facing challenges that can be stressful and overwhelming. Developing strategies to cope with COVID-19 stress in a healthy way will help the community and its membership to become more resilient.
Post COVID-19 stress has seen many youths and Elderly display the followingcharacteristics that are worrisome and unless we learn how to cope and promote positive thinking the effects might be long lasting:
