Association of Kenyans in Alberta is a not-for-profit organization incorporated in Alberta in 2015

Our Vision

Our vision is to become the preeminent organization for promoting and developing a greater understanding and appreciation of the multicultural splendour and heritage of Kenya, in all its facets, in Alberta's Capital Region and among Canadians.

Our Mission

Our mission is to offer the visitors and residents of the National Capital Region of Alberta a world-class opportunity to experience and personally learn about the traditions, culture and heritage of Kenya and thus promote multi-cultural understanding, appreciation, harmony and peace; and enhance inter-cultural connectivity in Canada.

Our Objectives

To serve our community with information and programs that will help us to thrive physically, mentally and economically;

To serve as a central repository of information (a one-stop shop for information) about Kenya and Kenyans within the Regional Capital of Alberta and the entire of Alberta and Canada;

To showcase high quality Kenyan music and dance programs;

To engage our patrons with interactive and participatory programs that both entertain and educate about culture and heritage of Kenya;

To present nutritious and tasty authentic ethnic food from different regions of Kenya;

To present workshops that nourish the Body and Mind: on Wellness, Music, Arts, Dance and Cooking;

To organise discourses, discussions and debates on Kenyan inspired Culture and Philosophy;

To maintain a repository on sources of information on subjects including the Cultures, Festivals, Music and Dances, Philosophies, Literature and Cuisine of Kenya.
